Now she remembers what I said

A little while back we were in the drive thru at McDonalds. Megan said "too bad Kellie is with us or we could go in". Kevin said "What" Megan replied "They don't allow babies in McDonalds." Kevin had this bewildered look on his face.

I was trying to sink down in my seat because I remembered where she got that.

Kellie was really little and Megan wanted to eat in McD's. I didn't want to drag Kel inside. It had been a long day and I was too tired to explain it to Meg so I told a lie- that McD's doesn't allow babies in the restaurant. That was well over a year ago and she remembered it.

I had to apologize to her for not telling the truth and say how wrong I was. And I had endure one of those looks from Kevin that says "I can't believe you did that!"

They remember the stuff you wish they wouldn't...

Things change...

Kevin offered to take me to a nice restaurant for Valentines dinner. I didn't really want to go out nor spend that kind of money on food, nor did we have a babysitter.
Pizza Hut sent out an email with a "sweetheart of a deal" and I suggested that we get pizza. It was a nice family day, no big deal, which is how I like it.

As we were eating our pizza I started to laugh. Things had really changed...

16 years ago on Valentines Day I told Kevin that I wanted to go somewhere nice for dinner or lunch, someplace at least a little fancy. It was a Sunday and we were dressed for church so it would be easy to just go from there. Kevin's friend Brian's girlfriend had told Brian the same thing.

Well, some unattached folks from our Sunday School class decided to go to Pizza Hut. Brian and Kevin decided we would go too. So much for a fancy lunch! I was MAD and let Kevin know about it. So much for those childhood dreams I had of what valentines day would be like once I had a steady boyfriend!

In spite of that Kevin still asked me to marry him that day and I accepted.

I'm getting old and settled, and that's ok! I liked our quiet Valentines day with the girls (after a visit to meet Indi, the new furry valentine in our family). But some days the changes the years have brought are amazing!

A Sussex wins Best in Show at Westminster!!!

Stump, a 10 yr old Sussex Spaniel, won best in show at the Westminster Kennel Club show last night. 1st time for a Sussex, plus he's the oldest winner in history! Go Stump!

Our Emmett is a Sussex Spaniel. I'm pretty sure we met Stump at a Sussex get together many years ago. Little did we know we were in the presence of greatness!

I'm so excited about what this best in show win can do for this wonderful beautiful breed.

They aren't a very common dog in the US and are hard to come by. We fell in love with the beautiful face and eyes, the gorgeous liver colored coat, and the sorta lumbering way these long bodied but short legged dogs walk.

A new family member coming

No, no one is pregnant or adopting a child (at least not that I know of!)

Angie and family are getting a puppy and I am so excited. You would think it was my puppy! I've been looking at puppy stuff, giving my "sage" dog owner advice, and suggesting crazy names like Skittles and Pumpernickel.

Things in our family, mainly with my dad, have been really rough the last 2 months and we haven't had much to look forward to.

But I, like others in the family, am looking forward to a new furry addition to the family! I can't wait to bury my face in the puppy's fur and smell that puppy breath.

I even told Angie that I'd let the dog cut my nose with it's sharp teeth and then almost pass out since that is what happened with her and Winston when he was a pup!

Anyway, I am so excited! They go tomorrow to see the puppies and choose the one they want! And maybe they will have the puppy by Valentines day!

Yeah, I'm crazy I know!
